A registered nonpolitical grassroots organisation committed to advancing social justice, equity, and the public good across Siaya County through climate governance and legal reform.
Our Story
Profoundly touched by Gandhi's Independence movement and particularly, the idea of making sacrifice for the common good of others, ACDG's work is rooted in the belief that meaningful change requires commitment beyond self-interest.
We believe that climate action is the 21st century's greatest opportunity to drive forward all the Sustainable Development Goals. Guided by this vision, our mandate centres on advocating for sustainable development, environmental justice, and the constitutional rights of local communities.
We recognize that combating climate change is not only about reducing emissions or building resilience—it is about transforming every sector of our economy to be not only climate-friendly, but also equitable and regenerative for both people and nature.

We work through evidence-based advocacy, inclusive dialogue, and legal empowerment to ensure climate and socioeconomic development policies translate into tangible benefits for communities.
Climate Governance & Legal Reform
We advance targeted legal reforms to unlock climate finance and strengthen local governance. Our approach focuses on harmonizing county legislation with national climate laws, operationalizing climate funds, and empowering village councils in climate decision-making.

Institutional Development
We work to establish the Siaya County Development Authority (SCDA) as a centralized technical institution mandated to conduct action research, inform policy, and mobilize, manage, and direct green financing toward high-impact, community-led sustainable development projects.
